Ultimate Beverage Challenge 92 points - A very classy bouquet of eucalyptus, dried sage, sweet pepper, dark plum, and black cherry peel shows the regal breed of this wine. The tannins are plentiful, but maintain a softness and breed that leads to a powerful finish. (Jun 2016)
Wine Advocate 90 points - The outstanding 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley is slightly more expensive, but a beauty. It has some hefty alcohol at 14.8%, and spends 14 months in a combination of French, American and Hungarian small casks. More earthy and tannic than its Sonoma cousin, but rich, extracted, dark ruby/purple, with loads of cassis, earth, spice box and cedar wood, this is a rich, classic Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon that’s made from a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petite Sirah. It should drink well for 10-15 years.
