Cave des Onze Communes is a co-op of 220 small growers located in 11 villages in the Val d’Aosta. 100% Pinot Noir from the villages of Introd, Aymavilles, Joveçan, Gressan, Charvensod. The vineyards are between 650 and 850 meters above sea level. The grapes are destemmed and gently pressed. Maceration during fermentation lasts about 8 to 10 days. The wine is aged in neutral barriques for 11 or 12 months. Malolactic is completed.
The 2012 vintage was characterized by early progress in the vine’s cycle, with above average temperatures in both summer and autumn. The harvest was about 1 week early compared to normal. In general, the reds are velvety with good phenolic ripeness and subdued tannins.
